Scholastic Bowl Team Buzzes Up Interest

By OHS Torch Reporter, Cole Hamel

This fall Olympia High School Scholastic Bowl team  is poised for one of its best seasons in recent history, led by multiple returning senior starters and a veteran Head Coach.

Olympia’s Scholastic Bowl team has been hard at work practicing to prepare for the upcoming season’s competitions. The season has started slow with members of the team missing practice from being involved in other events, but that doesn't seem bother Senior David Bell.

“ Win or lose we always have a great season” said David. David and the other returning members seem optimistic about their chances to do great things.

This year’s team has a chance to become the first regional champions for the first time since 2002-03. This will take a lot of teamwork to accomplish.T his doesn't seem to phase Senior Colby Timmons at all.

When asked how he thinks this year’s team will be, he answered, “I think we will be fairly successful, we have all a lot of experience I believe this will make us a team to recon with in the area.”

This will be put to the test when the Scholastic Spartans take on the Saints of Central Catholic. one of the best teams in the area.

The team is led by Mr. Kent Hieronymous who will be, retiring after this year. This leads some mystery on who will lead the Scholastic Bowl team in the future.
