The Olympia High School P.E. classes offer students new opportunities and fun in their wellness and aerobics class including bags, frisbee golf, ping pong, and many other activities.

Olympia’s P.E. program has always been a good class that keeps students active the whole year. Students that participate in sports also appreciate the ability of being able to take strength and conditioning P.E. since it keeps student athletes in tip top shape.

There are a wide variety of activities that occur within the semester of P.E. that students enroll in. Every activity provided by Olympia’s P.E. instructors are greatly enjoyed and keeps the students entertained and active.

A few P.E. classes that previously were available for students such water aerobics and outdoor-living, are not offered this year.

Olympia’s P.E. teacher, Mr. Gerry Thorton, said, “The only classes that are provided this year are health/wellness class, chorus/P.E., and an aerobics class taught by Mrs. Hoffman.” People who participate in the health/wellness class go to Health for 40 minutes, then to Wellness P.E. for 40 minutes.

Olympia’s P.E. teacher, Mr. Tim Thomas, said, “Our P.E. has a lot of activities including bags, horseshoes, frisbee golf, ping pong, volleyball, wiffle ball, and many more entertaining sports that are partake in Wellness class that is offered.”

Aerobics is a new class has been presented to Olympia that is taught by Olympia’s new P.E. teacher, Mrs. Hoffman. The aerobics class was taught by Mrs. Goff for a year before Mrs. Hoffman taught at Olympia.

Mrs. Hoffman is new to Olympia this year. Previously she was a P.E. teacher at Monticello High School for 9 years. Mrs. Hoffman coached softball for 9 years and basketball for 6 years; she plans on coaching Olympia’s basketball this winter.
