Wrestlers Wrapped Up The Season

By Jake Short, OHS Torch Reporter
Olympia Wrestlers wrapped up the season after facing Dakota High School, first in 1A, having spectators and wrestlers on the edge of their seats as they battled for their goal.
Coach Cleary, Olympia Wrestling coach, said, “We had a great season. We could always improve and we will be training at camps over the summer to come back strong next year.”
The Olympia Wrestlers took the title of Elite Eight after wrestling the team state champs, Dakota. Losing 46-21, Olympia went home short of what they wanted to accomplish as a team.
Wes Litwiller, Olympia Wrestler, said, “As a freshmen, I am very excited to see what the team has in store for me these next three years.”
Olympia worked hard to get where they were this season, but offseason work is put in by most wrestlers. Camps in Illinois, such as Iron Sharpens Iron and in The Wisconsin Dells, give Olympia wrestlers the chance to work on their talent more than just during the season.
“I plan to work hard with my team over the summer and have good experiences so we come back just as good or if not better than this year,” said, Xian Graden, Olympia Wrestler.
The bar was set high due to many of the wrestler’s accomplishments this season, but there is much more for them to accomplish next year as well. Six starters are coming back next year and they are optimistic about next year's season

Lane Litwiller, Olympia wrestler, said, “Everyone has put in a lot of work to get to this point, a lot of the starters coming back are very talented and will benefit the team greatly for the next season.”
